Otis
Medical care is not the only way the SPCA Albrecht Center uses donor contributions to save lives. For dogs like Otis, behavior training is equally as lifesaving after being brought to our shelter SEVEN times. Eventually, donors contributed lifesaving funds to pay for training with Kara Dixon from Quality K9 Concepts. After two months of 24/7 in-home training with Kara, Otis was a new pup & found his forever home!
PHOENIX
Phoenix
Phoenix was brought into the SPCA Albrecht Center with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his paws, ears, face and tail. We were unsure whether the poor kitten was intentionally harmed or survived a structure fire, but all signs pointed to intentional harm. The Vet Care Center quickly went to work tending to his wounds, which was only possible thanks to our generous donors. He made a miraculous recovery & was quickly adopted by the SPCA Vet Tech that fostered sweet Phoenix back to health.
RHEA
Rhea
Rhea was brought to our shelter as a stray extremely emaciated, dehydrated & hairless. Her condition was shocking, though not out of the norm for animals brought to our shelter. She was timid, but kind, and clearly just needed a gentle human hand to bring her back to life. It didn’t take long before Rhea soaked up all of the love from the staff at the SPCA Albrecht Center and her transformation in just a few short weeks resulted in her finding her forever home just two months later!
ELSA
Elsa
Elsa was found chained to a pole in freezing temperatures at the residence of Robyn Denise Bacon in Aiken. She was nearly frozen, starving, and severely neglected. Fortunately for Elsa, she was rescued by police officers and brought to the SPCA Albrecht Center for care. Elsa’s journey was not easy, but it was made possible by our amazing supporters. She found her forever home just three months later!
SUPERMAN
SUPERMAN
Superman was found by the Saluda County Sheriff’s Department, chained to a stake, starving, barely able to walk, and not far from his two deceased friends who had starved to death on their chains. His prognosis was dim. Not only was he starved to the point of being a bag of bones, but he had an advanced case of heartworm disease. Due to his conditions, he was not eligible for adoption, but staff made him a home in our care. With the help of our supporters and the love of our staff, Superman miraculously lived multiple years at the SPCA Albrecht Center before passing peacefully from his conditions. He was beloved by all that knew him.

TIMON
Timon was most likely hit by a car and was found suffering on the side of the road, his leg shattered. Because of the prompt, quality care Timon received in our Veterinary Care Center, he is going to be okay. Our vets amputated his left front leg and there is hope for Timon. He was adopted to his forever home just one month after his life was saved!

Serta is one of nine dogs rescued from deplorable conditions in Saluda County. Thanks to the SPCA’s incredible supporters & donors, the SPCA Albrecht Center’s Veterinary Care Center was able to provide medical care and months of rehabilitation for these dogs. Serta found her forever person just three months after being rescued!

CECIL
Using lifesaving donations from our incredible supporters, the SPCA Albrecht Center’s Veterinary Care Center was able to remove Cecil’s blind eyes which did not develop properly. Cecil now lives life without discomfort in a loving, forever home.
CHAISE
CHAISE
Chaise is another dog rescued from an extreme neglect case in Saluda County. In addition to costly medical care, many neglected dogs require extensive training at our center to help them build confidence and learn to trust. It didn’t take long for Chaise to soak up his new found confidence by receiving daily love & care thanks to our supporters. He was adopted just two months later and is living a beautiful, healthy & happy life with his forever person.
