Pets are amazing in their ability to show us unconditional love. When it comes to returning that love, how do you love thee? Can you count the ways? Canopy beds, pet sofas, towering climbing trees, pet sweaters and hats, not to mention gourmet treat offerings, these are just a few of the ways we can express our passion for our pets.
With Valentine's Day coming up, you may be looking for some new ideas to show your pets the love. Forget the flowers and chocolates, of course. Instead, here are a few loving alternatives:
Saturday, February 13th we'll be holding a Pet Health Fair at the SPCA Albrecht Center from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Bring your dogs and cats (leashes and carriers please) to 199 Willow Run Road for low-cost vaccinations, heartworm testing, microchips, City of Aiken registration and spay/neuter information. Cash or check payment is appreciated.
On February 23rd, we'll be celebrating Spay and Neuter Awareness Month and World Spay Day with a Spayghetti Dinner. Proceeds benefit our low-cost spay/neuter program so more people can afford to spay and neuter their pets, helping to reduce pet overpopulation and homelessness.
Spayghetti Dinner tickets are just $8 in advance or $10 at the door and include a plate of spaghetti, salad, roll and a drink. You can dine in or take it home. Tickets are available online at www.LetLoveLive.org, by phone at 803-648-6863 or at 199 Willow Run Rd, Aiken, SC.
Next month, we'll show some love to our amazing team of volunteers with a luncheon and awards ceremony. We'll also be honoring a new Serena's Star award recipient with a beautiful framed photo and a $500 check from Steve, Doris and Serena Briggs.
Do you know a pet who has made a positive impact in the community? Nominate them! A nomination form is available at www.LetLoveLive.org or call Amy at 803-648-6863. Don't delay, nominations are due by February 25th.
This spring, we'll hold a Walk for Animals, to show love for the pets in our lives and raise money for the abused, neglected and homeless pets that make their way to our shelter every day. You can register right now and get started with your own fundraising goal. Just visit www.LetLoveLive.org/walkforanimals or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions.
Can't join the walk? Please consider a donation to help us reach our goal.
Don't have a pet in your life to show all this love to? We have plenty of loving pets available just waiting to become the love of your life. See some of them at www.LetLoveLive.org/availablepets, or better yet, come meet them in person to see just how much love they have to give. We're located at 199 Willow Run Road, in Aiken.
