All Aboard the S.S. Albrecht!

April 26, 2019

On Tuesday, May 7th from 6 pm to 8 pm, join the SPCA ‘Where Shopping Saves Lives’ for an evening of food, drinks, shopping and fun.  Located at 1589 Whiskey Road in the Mitchell Shopping Plaza, the SPCA Albrecht Center’s Mitchell Thrift Store is a one-stop shop for all of your wants and needs at affordable prices.

Attendees will set sail on the S. S. Albrecht’s “Let Love Live” Boat during our styled fashion show at 7 pm, with ‘destinations’ including Rio’s Carnival and Margaritaville.  Event supporters will get a first-look at the new season’s merchandise, with ‘Captain’s Discounts’ on select items.  From summer clothing to golf gear to outdoor furniture and more, the SPCA’s Mitchell Thrift Store has everything you need to get ready for the warmer days ahead.  100% of the evening’s sales will go to saving the lives of the homeless and neglected animals the SPCA Albrecht Center cares for every year.

For just $10 in advance and $20 at the door, tickets are on sale now at four locations in Aiken: SPCA Albrecht Center (199 Willow Run Road), SPCA Mitchell Thrift Store (1589 Whiskey Road), SPCA Richland Thrift Store (404 Richland Avenue East), Aiken Saddlery (1044 East Pine Log Road) and Auto Tech, Inc. (460 Silver Bluff Road).

Pick up your tickets online at www.letlovelive.org/thriftstoreparties

Tickets are ‘all-inclusive,’ including a ‘booze cruise,’ featuring beer and wine by donation only, free hors d’oeuvres, a first-look at new merchandise with discounts, and a raffle ticket to be entered to win our door prize.

ABOUT SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare

Established in 1935, the Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare is a private, non-profit organization operating under IRS Section 501c3. We have been placing thousands of needy animals into loving forever homes for over 80 years.  It is our mission to improve the lives of companion animals by rehoming abused, abandoned, and neglected pets while fighting for their well-being through vigorous legislative effort, humane education, and by offering affordable veterinary care for all.

Claire Grimes is the SPCA Albrecht Center’s Development Director.  She is an Aiken native, but spent some college years in Charleston, interning with Charleston Animal Society.  She is excited to be working in animal welfare in her hometown and is proud of the community efforts to better the lives of Aiken’s animals.  Her family includes her husband, Logan, a SPCA adopted black lab, Ozzy, a SPCA adopted Siamese mix, Luna, and Claire’s first love, Anakin, a 17-pound rescued Maine Coon mix.
