The Tails of Hope Veterinary Care Fund exists to allow supporters like you an opportunity to help by giving second chances to homeless pets in need of more extensive medical treatment, including those from abusive or neglectful situations and providing help to pet owners in our community when they are faced with the expenses of their own pet's medical, emergency or critical care, but are not able to afford the full cost of treatment.

Every donation enables us to help the many animals in our care, and support the programs we provide to the community. Your donation can be in honor or memory of a beloved person or pet and we will include their name on our Honorariums/Memorials page.

Elsa was found chained to a pole in freezing temperatures at the residence of Robyn Denise Bacon in Aiken. She was nearly frozen, starving, and severely neglected. Fortunately for Elsa, she was rescued by police officers and brought to the SPCA Albrecht Center for care. Elsa's journey has not been easy and her care is ongoing. A donation to the Tails of Hope Fund helps us provide for her ongoing care and needs.

Three years ago, an emaciated pit bull was found by the Saluda County Sheriff’s Department, chained to a stake, starving, barely able to walk, and not far from his two deceased friends who had starved to death on their chains. His prognosis was dim. Not only was he starved to the point of being a bag of bones, but he had an advanced case of heartworm disease. We named him Superman. He is perhaps the most hopeless case we have ever encountered, and believe it or not, Superman is still with us.

Timon was most likely hit by a car and was found suffering on the side of the road, his leg shattered. Because of the prompt, quality care Timon received in our Veterinary Care Center, he is going to be okay. Our vets amputated his left front leg and there is hope for Timon.

Serta is one of nine dogs rescued from deplorable conditions in Saluda County. Thanks to the Tails of Hope Fund, the SPCA Albrecht Center's Veterinary Care Center was able to provide medical care and months of rehabilitation for these dogs.

Using our Tails of Hope Fund, the SPCA Albrecht Center's Veterinary Care Center was able to remove Cecil's blind eyes which did not develop properly. Cecil now lives life to the fullest in a loving home.

Chaise is another dog rescued from an extreme neglect case in Saluda County. In addition to costly medical care, many neglected dogs require extensive training at our center to help them build confidence and learn to trust.
